picture talk

picture talk is a conversation between pictures and words.. it's pretty simple: you link to a picture you like and then give the picture a name.. the name becomes a subdomain, like coolpicture.name.org, where we can talk about the picture.

Contents

[edit] variable pictures

our conversation can go two ways: if someone thinks they have a better picture for coolpicture.name.org, they can include the new picture.. but like a wiki, the change only does not remove the old picture.. like a wiki, there's room to discuss the change.. the conversation is inclusive and free to flow..

[edit] variable names

the names are also free.. if someone wants to give the same picture a different name, it's easy; the same picture now has two names and another conversation space, inclusive and free to flow..

[edit] sort

conversations, if multiple and flowing freely, might organize and prioritize via a simple reddit.com-like community rating system, perhaps including other metrics like conversation volume, etc..

[edit] by number

how to manage multiple conversations? simple: every picture gets a unique number; all associated conversation is attached to that number: that unique number gives us a "single point of truth" where we can find all conversations associated with the unique picture.

[edit] multilingual

que pasa si quiero conversarle en espanol? no problema: since a single picture can have multiple names, conversations about the picture can happen in any language, like the spanish.. so coolpicture.name.org can also be called fotochido.name.org, y asi la raza le puede conversar.

[edit] intertwexting

links between variable names for the same picture can, like multilingual wikipedia, be automagically generated on a column to the side.. so if you're learning another language, you can fish for fun little conversations, participate and learn..

[edit] free language

in no way would conversation identified by a different name in a URL be restricted any language, although that may be a tendency.. the common ground is not the language identity, the common ground is the picture.. we just name names and use words to describe or react to the picture..

[edit] commons

pictures give a common visual language that can spark conversations in variable human languages like english, spanish, mandarin, arabic etc.. the picture creates the context.. the words, whether comprehensible or not, organize around the single point of truth: the picture.. talk
